The Story Teller

Narration C/o Kancharapalem

Narration brings a story to life. In fact, it doubles the Drama in your written script. Basically narration is not to give a clarity to the listeners on what we are writing. It is for ourself to get a clarity on what we are telling.

After spending for two months in Kancharapalem writing a script, I came back to Hyderabad and narrated it to my fellow film makers. They all bounced back with their feedback after the narration. It gave a clarity on what I am doing and really boosted my confidence. I know that I am a bit slow in narration, thank you for your patience guys. Now I am ready to jump in to the the battle field.

Script C/o Kancharapalem

Hi All..

I know it’s been a long time I haven’t posted any updates about the “Project C/o Kancharapalem. The reason behind that is the reason behind this post. I was writing the script of “C/o Kancharapalem” all these days. I spent a lot of time with the people of Kancharapalem in order to understand their lifestyle, observed and understood the culture of Kancharapalem. It took all these days for me to incorporate this place in to my story. Finally the Script “C/o Kancharapalemis ready now. I also made a trailer with a temporary cast to use it as the crowd funding pitch video. You will see it soon. And today I registered the Script “C/o Kancharapalem” at “TELUGU CINE WRITERS ASSOCIATION” with the help of my friend, film maker and mentor “Aparna Malladi”. Now the “Script C/o Kancharapalem” is Legitimate.

Team C/o Kancharapalem

Teams are formed when individuals with a common taste, preference, liking, and attitude come and work together for a common goal.

When I came to Kancharapalem 20 days ago with an idea of making a film in this neighbourhood, I have no idea “how to start” and “from where to start. Then I met “Murthy” the only friend and the only person that I know in this place. And he started everything. With the help of Murthy I met some of the talented people of Kancharapalem. They love cinema to the core and analyse cinema more than a professional film maker or a film critic possibly could. Some of them have even tried in the Film Industry. But as a matter of fact, they lacked the right motivation and direction required for any skilled person to make it big in the Industry. One of them even distributed some of the honest films like “Pothuraju”, “Sivaputhrudu”, “Mrugam” e.t.c. They are living exuberant life in Kancharapalem, still carrying their dreams in their bellies. I thought that this is the perfect team that I need for Project “C/o Kancharapalem”. I felt that I have landed here at the right time. I spoke with them and told my idea of making a film in their neighbourhood. They were so happy for that and accepted to support me in making this possible. Now, “I Have a Team”. Team C/o Kancharapalem.

We had a narration session yesterday at Mr. Madhu’s house. I told them the story of the film. They liked it and gave some inputs which are really valid.

Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success

We came together and now started working together. I feel this as the first step of success.

Beauty C/o Kancharapalem

Every Place has it’s own beauty. I believe the real beauty of a place lies in its people and its culture. In that case, Kancharapalem is one of the most beautiful places I have seen. This is a 120 years old neighbourhood with a great culture and diversity.

Kancharapalem is surrounded by hills on two sides, port and naval base on the other sides. The whole neighbourhood is placed in between two railway gates. More than 80 trains greet people of this place passing through the railway gates every day. Most of the houses look a bit old because 95% of families are living here since a long time and most of them are relatives. The streets here are narrow but the hearts of people are so spacious filled with love and affection. There is a ground in this neighbourhood where old people play Volley ball and Cricket with Young guys every day. This is happening since 40 years. Many people here are experienced in  theatre acting under two Theatre Groups called “Mahatma Gandhi Kala Samithi” and “Sri Gowri Kala Kendram”. These are some of the elements that  inspired me to make a film in this place. Thus the idea of “C/o Kancharapalem” took birth in my brain.

Project C/o Kancharapalem

The life of a film maker is  pursuit of stories. Anything which moves a filmmaker or inspires him or motivates him or grabs his attention gives him a zeal to narrate it to the world through his eyes and mind. “Story ” for a filmmaker is a weapon with which he will conquer the hearts of the audience.

By the way I am Venkatesh Maha, an avid movie watcher by profession and a filmmaker by passion. After working for 5 years in the Telugu Film Industry I realised that most of the Film Makers are not here to tell stories. They make films without stories and tell stories to promote their films. Some of the film makers shamelessly say that there are “NO STORIES”and  some say that our Producers and Big Ass Stars asked us to write these kind of stories. Except some film makers rest of the film makers are here for the Celebrity Status and Millions of Money. I feel ashamed to place my name in that list of film makers. So “I HAVE DECIDED“.

In my journey of exploring stories I came across a place called Kancharapalem in Visakhapatnam. This place has a vibe that I had never experienced before. Hence, I have decided to tell one of my stories to the world using this Neighbourhood. I have named this as Project C/o Kancharapalem. “C/o Kancharapalem” is a compilation of stories that are filled with honest emotions and real life experiences. This film will be made in Kancharapalem, in its backdrop, with its People as actors and filled with its originality.
